I like it, but I think it might be a little dark.
Is it possible to clone-out the powerlines?
Gorgeous colors! Nice reflection.

Horizon too close to centre. Slight underexposure? Increase contrast slightly. A little more saturation and some sharpening. Clone out the power poles.
Try taking the picture from a lower angle closer to the water. I like these kinds of shots but usually try in the mornings (early) to see if I can capture some birdlife on the water.
Hope that's useful.

I used "FujiSlide" action from http://www.1clickactions.com to give the colors a

Ohoh! I think that's just a tad too much saturation now :-( Sorry. It might be my monitor though. Why not use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements? They can be a bit "daunting" to begin with. I'm still just scratching the surface with PS CS2. They will give you better control over colour reproduction.

EDIT: Oh and I take back what I said about the horizon being too close to the middle. In landscapes with reflections in water it seems to work. It adds depth to the photo.

I agree. Rule of Thirds works vertically as well. The shot is just too dark - no lighting at all.

I don't get a real sense of place with this photo, maybe next time step back and get more of the *****ine in the bottom of the frame. And using the rule of thirds, deside what is the subject - the lake or the sky.

This would work if there was more contrasting colors to the sky like at sunrise or sunset.

i liked W&J's edits with the color but I didn't like how the picture kept pulling my eyes to the bottom of the picture. So i cut it out even though I liked the ripple on the lower left hand corner. Maybe get more of the sky next time when you're taking the picture or more to the left or right making it a pano. I don't take much landscapes though, it may be me talking out of my ass :P

Now my eyes are staring more at the dock and the greens

Had a quick go, didn't have time to take out the power lines though.
Velvia script ( 2/3/12 )
Slight sharpen in Lab mode.

The horizon bisects the shot so the viewer is left wondering where to focus the initial attention on. Is it the reflection in the water or the sky. Also, there is nothing in the foreground to force a sense of depth. Perhaps if the grass in the foreground were included in the shot. Lastly, I'm not sure there is a strong focal point in the shot. Perhaps that bridge on the left should be the focal point of the shot.

I like this crop, gives it a better flow. The picture is no longer split horizontally across the center. You know, rule of thirds and etc.
