I've read several posts inquiring about turn-around times for factory repair, so I thought I'd post this just as an FYI. I sent my D30 to the Irvine, Ca repair facility for lock-up repair on Oct 2, and had the camera back in my hands on Oct 14th.
Repair time: 12 days
Repair cost: $200
