Hi Guys,

What do you think of these bodyscapes / bodyarts?

Dont pay too much attention to the mat on the first picture, im trying to get the pose right before I get the mat right (well the truth is that I have ordered a new mat and it hasnt come in yet!!!)

Cheers
Jason

Weli I must call a spade a spade

These are simple nude images. Not "photographic art" at all. But for the moment at least, the B & W look helps to raise them above a boudoir mood. That said:

(1) ... the 3rd and 4th seem dead-ended. I see no purpose in them at all,
(2) ...the 2nd is at least clean -- and may appeal. Its closely shaved body is neat and tidy, but the missing head makes no sense to me.
(3) ... that brings us back to #1. I would give this 6 on a 1 to 10 erotic scale. There are a few blems that could be stamped out. The DOF fails a bit on the right side. Knowing that this girl is splayed ut on a mat (seam visible) labels the shot as a sort of boudoir photograph.

In conclusion, I would label the 1st and best image "boudoir photography", as the aproach, limited use of dramatic lighting, and use of mat (i.e. zero use of 3D space) argue against framing the image for use as an art piece.

Not knowing the marketing/customer situation, limits the critical focus of the discussion.

Hye Howie,

Thanks ofr the feedback. I have broad shoulders.

So with the full body one thats not really art, you mentioned too much space and 3D space.

How would you improve that photo. I know why you dont like it, but tell me how to improve it. I have access to this model any time I want.

Cheers
Jason

Give me a few hours ( I have a couple of outings to attend) to refect on your question.

In my response, I am going to assume that you want a clean image that would be labeled "art" and might be suitable to mount in an up-scale bachelor's home. Along that line, I am going to look around for something that:

1: does nto require a floor mat, and that

2: adds phtographic beauty via stronger shadows that fall, (a) on the body and (b) within the studio

The challenge wil be to meet those requirements while retaining the gorgeous body that you have set out in this draft.
