Hi there,
My 10D arrived today. To my surprise, the box was NOT sealed and ready to open(I did not see any sign of previous taping either) ; neither was the plastic bag for the camera inside. And there was no protective film on the LCD screen.
This made me wonder if it was an open box unit, although it supposed to be brand new according to the on-line dealer.
Did yours come like this too? Your answer(s) will make me sleep better tonight.
A big Thank You in advance!

I bought my 10D at a local store. The box was not sealed, nor was the camera. The LCD screen did not have any protective film.

I don't recall if there was film on my LCD screen,. but the Camera was definately in a palstic bag and the box was sealed with a big round clear sticker. (it may have been silver with stuff printed on it? I'm at work and cant look)
Put a card in and see what number it assigns your first picture..... :)

So far I never had any of my canon stuff sealed in a box. Most likely Canon does not seal their boxes in US.

I purchased mine from Best Buy including some lenses, no boxes where sealed. I also tend to think that stores put their own stickers on items boxes to show "Look, its brand new" ya know?

I puchased mine from Cardinal Camera via internet. The box was not sealed, however, all contents were in a bag of some sort.

When I received my camera the box was not sealed. The camera was in a white bag of some sort (not cloth), it and the camera were in a plastic bag.

Mine wasn't sealed either, but the camera itself was inside a white thinly-foamy bag..my lenses weren't sealed either. I bought all from the same store in Bryn Mawr, PA.

No.
I bought my 10D about a month ago from B&H, box not sealed, plastic bags taped, no film on the LCDs. It appeared to be brand new and I believe B&H is pretty honest.
I also just bought a Digital Rebel (for my brother, I'm not *that* greedy ;) ) and it had just arrived at Best Buy that day. The box for this was also not sealed, no film on LCDs, etc. It appears this is the way they are shipped.
The problem then is you can't tell if they have been returned, as long as someone does a good job on the repackaging.
