Here are photos from the Vader, Kataklysm, Destruction, \speed/kill\hate/ and The Absence show at Studio Seven in Seattle on June 30th 2006. I used a Canon 20d and shot from the balcony with a Sigma 70-200 F/2.8 EX APO HSM and a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di AF. I didn't shoot from the mosh pit (no barricade at this venue) as I usually do as I recently had some minor sinus surgery I needed to keep safe. I used a 590ex flash for fill during Vader, Kataklysm and Destruction because the lighting guy bands kept the place REALLY dark)

All the bands are what one would call extreme metal, nobody really sings the vocals are growled, shouted and screamed.. Destruction are a German band that has been around since 1983 and are one of my favorites.

Links to the full photo sets will follow. Please check them out when you have the time, feedback is always appreciated.

I don't have time at the moment to check out the galleries but I really like these ... and I love your description of the "vocals" ... as though Klingons I think. It would never be my favorite (I wouldn't take my earplugs out) listen but they look like a real show! :-)

Oddly a lot of folks appear to be vacationing this American Independence Day weekend.

Thanks! Fortunately Slayer is playing at a larger venue so there will be a barricade for us photo types :)
