I am trying to use the AV cable that comes with the kit to connect my camera to the TV. The problem is that my TV just has the input for a coaxial cable and not the separate audio video inputs. Can I use my vcr (which as audio/video in) to achieve this? In fact I tried doing this too, but the TV does not get this input.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks.

Does the VCR manual show how to get that input to the coax output? Make sure you follow the manual exactly (for the cam as well as the VCR), and make sure you have the cam set to the right vid standard (NTSC or PAL).

Also, make sure the TV is set to watch the VCR and the VCR is set to A/V I have forgotten the latter part before myself.

It should work. Make sure the vcr is set to use the a/v inputs as opposed to the co-ax cable input. If your vcr has a/v inputs on both the front and back, and you use, say, the ones on front, make sure the vcr is also set to use that set of inputs.

Thanks a lot guys! I got it working by changing the input setting for the vcr.
