Does anyone have any experience with the Vagabond Battery Packs made by the people that make White Lightening Strobes? I'd like your opinion of them and to know if you've ever used them with other branded strobes.
Thanks,
Scott

Scott,
I have one and I like it. You need to keep it pluggged in all of the time...recommended. It's heavy but nice to be able to use White Lightnings outside. There is a piece of metal about 8 inches long(hooked to an alligator clamp) that you have to lay on the ground for safety but that's no bid deal. I've used it for outdoor weddings and portraits. I have it mounted on a cheap Walmart cart and a lightstand right on the cart too. I use a small Alien Bee flash on it. I like it but wish it were smaller and lighter. I do recommend it in spite of some shortcomings. It delivers a lot of flashed per charge.
they don't recommend them for other strobes and I've never tried them since I'm an ardent White Lightning fan.

I wrote to whitelightining directly. They strongly sugested against using their vagabond battery with any non white lightining strobes. Apparently the pack is designed for their strobes and vice-versa. It won't work with other strobes and may indeed damage them.
