380ex vs. 420ex??????

What is the main difference between these two flashes? Other than the 420ex can tilt and swivel and can be slaved with the 550ex.

Money is tight and I have strongly considered picking up a second hand 380ex for about $50-60 less than the 420ex.

I shoot 95% night time sports when using a flash. (Football, baseball, etc.)

Does anyone here have any experience in using any of these two flash with night time sports???

How about winter indoor (motor)sports? Almost the same darkness. (-:

Keep in mind the distance from you to your subject. The more light you have from your flash the better your pics will be.

I have the 420 and it works well for me and what I do, but I probably could have used the 550. I'm guessing the 380 will fall off before it leaves the sidelines.
