Sorry to bug this group about the microdrive rebate. I purchased my camera before three weeks before christmas, sent my rebate card in and still have not heard anything from canon. How long does it take to get the drive and how does one check to see if they actually received the rebate card? I'm beginning to worry, . . .

I just saw over on DPReview that someone sent theirs in the first of December and just got the Microdrive and battery. I've been hearing that it takes 8-10 weeks now rather than 4-6 as it used to.

Yeah, I'm pretty much in the same boat. Bought my camera mid-December, sent the rebates in right away and time seems to have stood still since then!

I found a copy of the rebate coupon and it said "allow 6-8 weeks". It seems like it's been 8 weeks already, but it's only been 4-5 at the max. It's just too hard to be patient!

Think yourselves lucky, in the UK we were only offered the choice between a lens a 550EX or a 160Mb 10x Lexar card. (BJS800 also in an earlier promotion). - I know hat I would have prefered.

Have to say that mine arrived within a week of sending the forms in.

I sent my card in early December as I recall. I got the card back early last week, and the drive/battery arrived via UPS yesterday (Jan. 24). The 1G microdrive is a neat widget but I found I need a different compact-flash adaptor card to fit it in my computer pc-card reader (you need CF-II for the 5mm height, rather than my earlier "standard" CF->PCMCIA adaptor).

Most places that sell the microdrive retail bundle it with a CF-II adaptor, or a whole USB reader, although Canon give you just the drive. For some reason I've found a standalone USB card reader seems a lot faster than the camera's built-in USB interface.

I sent my rebate card in the 2nd week of december, and the box with the microdrive and battery showed up the other day. just about 5 weeks. Can't wait to give it a test run this weekend.

Sent my rebate in on December 19 and got my Micro Drive and Battery on February 13. I thought that the rebate included the battery grip, but I must have misunderstood.

All,

I also purchased my D-30 in the early part of December.
After about 6 weeks I called Canon Customer Service.
The rebate center is in New York. Just ask for the phone number. When I contacted the rebate center the person asked me for my zip code and then checked a list. She told me when my order was processed. 3 days later I received it (about January 20). I strongly advise calling.
It saves some gray hairs.
