I recently purchased a Canon Powershot A620, and I am trying to import the photos I've taken to my computer. I installed the software and plugged in my camera, but it says 'Camera is not detected. Please check connection and try again.' I've tried multiple times, but it simply cannot detect the camera.
Any suggestions?

Hello victimoflauren,
What OS have you on your PC? See also here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=187546). ;)

One thing I've noticed is that it sometimes doesn't see the camera when the LCD screen is facing outwards (so you can see it). If you put it away (so the screen is facing the inside of the camera) you might have more success.

Serious suggestion - buy a USB 2 card reader and forget all about the cable. It's often more reliable, it can be faster, and it doesn't run your camera batteries down (the reader is powered from the computer over the USB cable).

on the back, is the switch flipped to the bottom? (it should be where the blue rectangle w/ the triangle inside) if its still on the camera mode, it wont work.
