I think I need a bit more practice on panning/focusing. The Super Aguri picture (Montagny) is from behind the fence on the slowest corner of the track...Saturday practice.

The podium picture was taken from across the track way up in the paddock area and about 100 or so yards further down the track. This was the best I could do...between all the people milling around and cheering, my tired eyes and my sweaty hands I think I was lucky to get THIS picture. I realize it's probably not the best crop, I'll play around with it s'more...but I thought it was kind of a cool picture with Michael being airborn.

I love the Micheal one - looks like something from the Matrix :D

I know Schumi has done his jump a lot, but that is still good timing. Where were you at? Inside of track?

That is a great shot of the podium, a classic shot where technical details are irrelevant !
(Who said white men can't jump?) Thats a pretty high jump!
The first shot is a bit soft (tend to get more at slow speed panning shots aas you need to use even slowwer shutter) and also the dreaded fence is showing up.

I actually prefer panning when the vehicles are going at a reasonable pace.

I think the podium picture came out very well.

I know how difficult it is take good podium pictures, especially if you're elbow to elbow in a crowd.

my seats were up where you took that picture, maybe a little higher, NN i think was the row. i thought to myself how unlucky all the photographers were standing way down next to the podium and how they missed out on great shots up where i was (if they had a good zoom that is).

AWESOME shot!
