Nice boy, I agree :) I like that you came close to him and he looks in the camera. The catchlights in his eyes add life to his eyes. But there are several things you may improve. First, his eyes in the very corner of the eye sockets - it creates unnecessary tension, the shadows from the flash are flat, better to reflect it from the ceiling or walls. I would recommend use dark closing to match the couch, so the face would be more prominent. And watch the small finger of his left hand - is it missing? :))

I think that the middle picture suits his age better..you know, playful type, I love daddy type, etc..I like it.

I like 8857 best.

I find the enigmatic expression more interesting to look at than the "c'mon, smile" smiles.

Also, the lighting is the least harsh here. I can SEE the boy, and he is, after all, the subject. Shadows are not cutting him up, as in 8858 and 59.

I like the fact that you cropped off the top of his head. A little bit of "rule breaking" there, but in doing so, I think that you elimnated a lot of distracing background.

For 8859, he is rotated past horizontal which makes me fell a little disoriented looking at it. I am sure that there is a time and place for disorientation, but I don't think that this is it.
