Can this photo be fixed in PS I have PS 7
I want to try and fix this photo to where the light is so bright on one side of face and even the tone out.
Is there a way to do this?

this is what i've come up with.

took your pic did a auto levels/contrast/color adjustment till it looked better overal.
duplicated that layer and concentrated on the bright area of the pic. made it darker, cut it out with magnetic lasso tool.
add layer mask>reveal all, and use gradient tool to even out the layer.
pic could be done better , this was done in a minute or 2 :D
have a look at the psd: http://www.rayzcasa.com/default9/assets/joe.psd

No ofense, but I don't think that the corrected images are better. Faces on them look very unreal, too faint. If you want to improve the image:
1) try to clone out ONLY the white spots on the face.
2) use histogram function in your photo editor and crop the highest frequencies (of course select only face). You will get better solution, if you have the picture originally in .raw format.
3) if you have a camera with the histogram function, use it, it may be better than 2)
I followed 1) using scratch remover (a kind of cloning out) and after a minute I got this:

Here is my best shot. I lightened the mid tones and shadows in the face and darkened the highlights. Cropped it a little, did some sharpening, messed with the color levels
It still looks kind of faked, but I like this version better than the original

Hope this helps

Just fumbling through older posts and saw this. Here is a fix that I looks pretty natural IMO. I'll leave it on line for a few days in case you want to keep it. I used a feathered mask, level adjustment, and a slight hue shift.

I think you can get a more detailed fix by using the "clone stamp tool" , set the brush to "darken", alt+click to sample a normal skin color and then go over the overexposed areas of the face. :)
Of course, do that in a layer copy of the background and then set the opacity untill it looks just right.
All this done in Photoshop 6 or 7.

Ok. I don't like none of the other posts more than the original image, except for the brian one, and even that one still have the highlights problem, so this is my version :)
I've done some cloning using selective color mask and a 18% opacity stamp, some midtone sharpening, some curves to open the shadows and a little saturation increase to resaturate colors after the curves processing.
What do you think?
