Hey there,
Blended exposures at F/5.6 (I think) ISO 100 5 exposures from 1/100 to 20sec blended in cs2 (wich I actually paid for the first time today)
I am just curious what you guys think. Sorry about the water mark. I cant get people to stop stealing my work. Thanks!

I can;t put my finger on it, but there's something about this shot that I really like. If what appears to be a plastic bag across the window wasn't there, I'd say it would be damn near perfect for me...

Thanks Steve! I really appreciate that from you. I was going to take down the bag... but I try to leave nature alone. hehe

Aside from the Pic. How do you like the lens? It is on my list of len(s) to buy - when I can save up the money that is :p

Great use of HDR (high dynamic range.) You may want to edit your post and put HDR in the title. I, for one, find this type of photography very interesting and enjoyable.

Thanks angel. :)
The lens is great! SUPER sharp for sure. Im not totally set on keeping it because of the money I put into it could go to some other great stuff, but Im not sure if I can let it go either. The lens has really helped me understand that the nicest camera in the world is nothing with out great glass.
Yours,

HDR? me???? never. :)
Its all new to me, but I think for the most part its over done. HRD can look to cartoon like and I dont like the association. To me HDR is a tool for capturing what is actually there. If I could capture a dark room AND the bright sunny day outside the window with out multiple exposures... I would. hhehe
oh HDR i love you.

You are becoming a bit of a star on this forum Dr.Flynn.
As quoted if the plastic bag was taken from the window frame this would have been awesome.
I love your work sir, Keep it up..;)

Wow that shot is one of the best images I have seen here! I am absolutely amazed at how well it turned out. But you say you used f5.6 for this picture? You've used available light using a f5.6? Wow don't tell the rest  LOL

Glad to see you're liking it. ;-) I wouldn't have gotten rid of it, except I was lusting after a 1DMkII...which I got today. Yes...applause is appropriate. Nah...really. That is a very nice shot. Nice and wide even on the crop, eh?

I think its as great shot even with the garbage bag over the window. Kind reminds me of some the South Louisiana cheap Motels I've slept in years back before I knew any better.

Nice composition. The eye starts at the lamp and follows the body to the heel. But the light fall off looks a bit unnatural.

That's a really nice shot. Is HDR pretty much automatic, ie step by step, with user interaction in between, or is it this magic wizardry I'd be lost trying to do? Inquiring idiots want to know! :) (PS: Don't have, nor can afford, CS2 anytime soon so I can't run through with anyone at the moment :()

very nice. it does look dark and moody. i'd bet it'd look warm and inviting if the subject's head was turned to one side and resting.
again, very nice.

I like the mood and color. Do not like the bag. Get rid of it. I'ld have lightened the person on the bed a *bit* more I think. Nice image! (if it wasn't for the bag ;))

Just so some people might know _ if you had ever stayed in one these sleazy cheap motels you'd understand the garbage bag over the window ... kinda like the owners found a quick fix for not having a curtain.

I agree with those who say "keep the bag". Adds to the sleazy moodiness of the shot. Very well done!

So? I'm not saying he should remove it while staying there.... Just for taking the picture ;)
Even if it was needed to shade the window, to prevent daylight coming in or so, put it on the outside, or at least get rid of the wrinkles....

Nice picture, but I have to admit I'm having a hard time reconciling your (apparently) contradictory lead in to it.

The first sentence seems to imply you've been using CS2 for awhile without purchasing it and have now "finally paid for it for the first time", while your second sentence moans about other people stealing your work.
Did I mis-read your post? I hope so, because otherwise complaining about others stealing your work is pretty hypocritical.

I love it, the bag doesn't bother me, in fact I think it makes the shot more interesting. I love the lighting and the lens brought out all those little details on the wall and rug. Would love to get me hands on one of those ... even if I could never come up with such a great shot. Congrats it's beautiful!

You might want to wait a couple of months because if this year is anything like last year, Canon will be offering the triple rebates. Instead of saving 3 or 4% you will be able to save around 12% per lens if you buy three or more during the time frame. And if you can find a store or site that eats the tax all the better.

Leave the bag in the shot. It really adds a new dimension to the image. It sort of gives it a creepy vibe.
