Hi all, I have a S500 and the little plastic piece that keeps the cf card slot cover closed has broken. Besides sending it back to Canon, does anyone have any other suggestions?

i'm sure you could call canon and get another door for pretty cheap. i have a 30D so i'm not sure about your camera. does it look like something easy to replace?

I have a new door coming from Canon. :D

Does anyone have any adivice on removing the pin and spring that hold it on?

i'd email canon and ask them if they have a mechanical schematic for it.

the door is held in place by the screws on the end, when they are removed only the cf door comes off.
