The R8 is one of my favorite racing cars of all times... I just loved the ability to change-out the gearbox (too bad they changed the rules on that one). It will be missed, but the R10 is doing a great job filling the void!

The R8, especially in Champion Racing colors was one of the most photogenic cars I can remember. From its colorful paint job, to the reflective graphics, to the sparks it let loose when going over bumps, it always left you something good to shoot. Here are a few.

Funny you should say that, Todd. While going through my older stuff, I too noticed a difference in image quality. But what struck me was how I almost got a similar sense of "nostalgia" to that of when I look at the really old stuff of Jesse Alexander or Louis Klemantoski. Not that I'm comparing my work to theirs... but when I look at their images, my eye (and heart) is much kinder with respect to the technical attributes. It's more about the content and looking back in time. So, when I noticed the softness in some of my early images, it didn't really jump out at me. I noticed it, sure... but the image and the memories were more important.

I'm glad I did this. It's always fun looking at the real vintage photos and wondering what mine will look like in 30 years. Knowing I won't be around to experience that "feeling"... viewing images that are just five years old gave me a glimpse of that experience.
