Just as the title says. What is the normal time it takes to get proofs to the bride/groom after the wedding? Do you actually have prints made / proof book, or post pictures on a website, or give them a CD with pictures on it?

Thanks,
Scot

Website: typically 1-3 days (sometimes 4 hours, sometimes a week)
DVD: 5-7 days.
Prints: 5-7 days (rarely requested and not included in my packages).

If giving prints, (I have been asked for prints), do you give them individual 4X6 pics, or a book with 9 or so pics on a page, or what?
Thanks,
Scot

online - a few days
on CD/DVD - couple of weeks
printed proofs - a month

(It's always better to underpromise, and overdeliver)

Since I know and trust the last couple, I down loaded the files on my epson P2000 and let them take it on their Honeymoon. They picked their favorites for PP and the rest will get batch processed for a CD. I wasn't worried about the files since I was already paid for the shoot.

If they buy a package from me, I'll include a 4x6 proof book (4x6 prints, album with 1 per page, about a $12 album)

How many proofs do you give them?

Thanks,
Scot

I charge a set few per hundred proofs, and it's reasonably low. They'd come in a box of some sort, which i'd have to find, since no-one has ever asked for printed proofs.

I promise 28 days for proofs, 28 days for prints from the date ordered, and 28 days for anything really, but it's rare things would take me near that long.

300 4x6 print proofs are included in all my packages. I don't do the CD/DVD thing (I haven't had enough interested couples to do this. Most just want prints.) I tell the couple 2-3 weeks, but more than often I have them ready in about a week.

BTW: I give them proof in an album. Walmart has some very nice 4x6 photo albums at very reasonable prices. I never paid more than $16.00 for an album.

I'm pretty much in line with Tim.

My standard is to offer physical prints at an additional charge. I have proofs on my website in a couple of days, a printed album in 10 ten days (this is due to the time constraints of my lab). In most cases and in either case the order is ready for them by the time they come back from their honeymoon.

I don't offer the DVD of images but will negotiate a price if they are insistent.

Reprints order vary depending on what they ask for. If it is a bound album it is up to 3 weeks (different lab). Normal prints 10 days again.

For an all day shoot, I include in their package price 300 - 400 proofs in two of the Topflight double view proof albums. My studio name is engraved in small script on the inside of the spine and the proofs will be a mix of 4x5 and 5x5 since I also shoot medium format film.

I tell the couple that the proofs are usually available for pickup about 3 weeks after the event. So far only a few people have asked for a DVD of the images. When I quote them the "extra cost" for giving away my copyright on the DVD they usually lose interest in that option.
