Well after a little investigating... it looks like the rumor is just that.... Wishful thinking... But I believe it is a fake!

Ha,
Well,. I'm no expert but...........
They started with an Eos 3 and pasted a buch of stuff to it in photoshop.
It doesn't even comply with Canon name standard???
ie: EOS 1D, 1Ds, 10D Vs. D80?
(yes I know there was D30 and D60,. but if it is based on the pro Eos3 body it would be a pro "D" so an 8D or something like that. not to mention that Canon dumped the D30, D60 progression whith the 10D,. why turn back?)

I just wish Canon would hurry up and announce their next DLSR, so I am hoping that there is some truth in the link, albeit the wrong name/number.
This is of course how the G5 was first let out of the bag, on a German site, I can't remember if they called it G5 but it did show pictures of the now G5.
Hurry up Canon please!

There will always be a next release.
At R&D right now are our cameras for 2006-2008. Next year's cameras are in final testing now. Factories to be ramped up soon. Secrecy is extremely high.
Customer patience is at an all time low.
Speculation runs rampant ;)

Patience???? Is this an American word, lol?
It is just that my 10d was stolen last Friday and I am off to buy a new one tomorrow, although I cannot decide whether to have the 1d or the 10d. The 1d is supposed to be a better camera, but it is all opinions.
I fear that a new camera will be announced next week and I will have just bought an 'old' one.
Decisions decisions!
Must look up that word, patience!

Yeah. Bummer Allen. If my cam was stolen and I had to replace it, I'd get another 10D. The 1D has to be next in the upgrade plans for Canon. I'd be shocked if it wasn't. But, Canon has done weirder things before. I would not buy a 1D.
Yeah, it's a pro camera, but definitely on its last legs as far as technology goes. It's in serious need of some more pixels. But, with technology, if you sit around and wait for the next release you'll never buy anything.
I couldn't imagine being without my 10D.

Really?!? Then you've obviously never shot with one. I own both the 1D and the 10D the 1D is by far a superior camera in every respect. Including in final print at equal size. Not all pixels are created equal. Infact the pixels on the 1D sensor are much larger than the pixels on the 10D. The 7.4 microns square(10D) vs. 11.5 microns square(1D) lower pixel density and larger pixels of the 1D actually leads to better detail. It's hard to wrap your head around at first but do a little research and you'll find I am right.
Yeah, it's a pro camera, but definitely on its last legs as far as technology goes. You're kidding right? I me come on, that's a pretty uninformed statment. It shares all it's "camera" bits with the 1Ds, you know, THE best, most innovative D-SLR on the market. It's by no means old hat. If you just meant the CCD array. You're still way off. Nikon just introduced their sports/photojournalism camera that is a direct competitor for the 1D. The nikon only has 4MP and it's a brand new design! If the 1D is an outdated piece of techno junk then why did nikon try so hard to duplicate it? I'll tell ya! Because the 1D is perfect for the job it was designed to do. Will there be a 6 or 8 or even 50 mega pixel camera in the future that dwarfs the 1D? yup! But not in the next year or maybe two.
It's in serious need of some more pixels. How large do you print? I've done test prints where I have bumped a 1D image up to 20x30 it came thru beautiful. Wedding photographers, most of the sports illustrated staff, a good portion of the PJs in Iraq and numerous others can't all be wrong. Maybe it's mass hysteria that makes us all love the 1D?
I suggest to shoot one for your sports images, the focus, the controls and the sheer speed of the camera can't be just explained. You really need to try one yourself. You'll want one! believe me....
oh, that D80 is the worst bit of photoshop compositing I've seen in a while. It's a hoax.
