Hi Everyone :) ,

I'm Boo, a newbie. What a great forum ! I have a question. I just got my Hoya PL Filter (Rotating) from bhphotovideo (around 20 bucks). Is it true that this filter cannot be used with Canon S3 IS due to 'TTL matter' ? What will happen if I still put it on my lens-adapter ?

Thanks before.

No - shouldn't matter at all. TTL issues with linear polarizers really only affect SLR cameras where a partially-reflecting mirror (which relies on a form of polarization) is in use. The S3 doesn't use this mechanism.

Hi Jon,

Thanks a lot for your quick information. I was worried that I bought the wrong filter.
Great ! Can't wait to try it out ....and see how it works !

I just shot a couple hundred pics with almost the exact set up as you have.. S3 IS, Hoya Circular Pol and a Hoya UV stabilizer. Works great!

Good luck and happy shooting!
