This is actually a composite of 3 images. The star-shaped and the hourglass-shaped explosions were each located on the lower left where the Mickey ears firework is. I had a 1D and 17-40 mounted on a tripod and actuated the shots by hand without mirror lock-up. Here's the EXIF:
