After they decide on the pics for the album, how much do you charge for 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, or larger?

Anywhere from $4.50 - $80 depending on the sizes...

I don't think it's unreasonable, I certainly couldn't charge it for a long long time, but I don't have Pixi's eye, and she may live in a higher cost of living area than I do. The average that I've seen is around $2-3 for a 4x6, $4-6 for a 5x7, $10-20 for an 8X10 and much more for larger. It really depends on the quality, the session fee (if their talent is great but sitting fee is average, they can charge higher)

Kaylene gives some good advice. Spend some time searching the pricing of established photographers in your area and then adjust your pricing accordingly. If some are charging 4.50 for that 4X6 then price yourself close to it. There is no sense in charging this if everyone else is around 3.00.

When I started I took my lab price and marked it up by 250%. I still use this as a general guidline but adjust for the area that I am selling in.

That sounds good price wise. I know a photographer around where I live that charges $15.00 for one 4x6. Personally I think that's too much. That's individual prices. I don't know if the bride's album is less or not.

make sure you overcharge for 4x6's :D
unless you enjoy reprinting images on 4x6... I absolutely hate it when a client orders reprints: 2 4x6, 1 5x7. Makes me wanna ripp my hair out.

Don't forget Pixi is in Australia, and the Australian dollar is worth 75% of the US dollar, so her prices are lower after you do the monetary conversion. AU$4.50= about US$3.35

I was at an educational day put on by my local professional organisation, a photographer presented to us who sold portrait images for about AU$1300 for a 24" canvas print. I think she charges a sitting fee too.

I charge reasonable rates for prints, less than many pros in my area, but still enough to be worth my time.
