Storm coming

For about an hour i watched a storm brewing as i travelled from Hull to Leeds.Both shots are taken from a car just before the rain hit us.They are both dark pics but i really like the colours in the first one.I tried for a while to snap the lightning in the second pic and finally got lucky.Im not sure what the best tecnique for taking lightning pics is,if anyone can help id be grateful.

the best way to do lightning pictures is a long exposer :) nice shots

Always go with the longest exposure you can get for night-time lightning shots. Then all you need is patience and a fat CF card.
