While discussing the next theme in world photoday the idea of graveyard came up. Knowing that I would not be near a graveyard during the weekend I went out just a few hours ago to get my photos in advance. In the meantime it turned out that it won't be graveyard for this weekend so I might as well post my photos now.
I went to a nearby graveyard around 6pm and when I got there I found out that the gates would be closed in less than 90 minutes to I had to hurry to find interesting subjects.
I discovered that a small part of the graveyard was dedicated to British Soldiers who lost their life during World War II in defence of Denmark.
So knowing that Dave (condyk) has a special interest in graveyards this was perfect.
40 soldiers rest in piece here.

Cheers Tommy. Like them all. Really nice graveyard. Beautifully kept. Very different to one of my local ones which could be described as 'rambling and untidy'.

Those are great! What a beautiful monument!
I love the roses between the headstones.

Spooky, different layout, but the momument and gravestones are identical to the war memorial here in Oslo - perhaps they are the same everywhere I suppose - just marks me as being spooky ;)
Nicely shot, very nice.

Thanks for supplying the shot of the story of the place. All fine shots--but, my faves are 3 and 6

Beautiful lighting Tommy, and yes, a bit different from Daves....which seems nearly Dickensonian (???)???
So how charming to go out before the time start and shoot a theme that never happened!! j/k

These are excellent Tommy, and the black framing is a very suitable finishing for this theme.
(Hey we are quite a number of us having interest to graveyards, I have posted something (http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=124658) some months ago, and recently I've seen Ross (Carzee) (http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=174068) to do the same. We do have Weddings forum, so should we have also Graveyard forum?)

To be honest I don't think there is enough interest ;-)

I think Dave could probably fill a whole graveyard forum by himself...
