For anyone with experience using this type of album/book, a question or two.
First, I have an account with them, price lists, templates, etc., so no fear divulging info.
My question(s) are, what is a manageable workflow to bring images into the templates? I have played with them but it seems awkward to me to have to open 40 different files in PS then selct, copy paste or drag. The "Place" function also seems somewhat tedious. Am I missing something?
Is there a better way to go about it?
Thanks for the help...

I use a design program, PhotoJunction, which lets me quickly and easily lay out an album. It then generates psd files which I can tweak. I couldn't stand to do it all in photoshop, it'd take me far too long.
Another option is to use a template system, so you drag and drop images in. I can't recommend any.

I am currently putting together my first Asuka book as well and you hit an area where I also have some questions. They have the Photoshop templates and group them in pages for the book style and number of pages you want. But they also have actions you can load in Photoshop that can generate pretty much the same thing. What I have been doing (and I could be all messed up) is I've been using the action to generate the template I need as I need it. They have action for first page, all middle pages (the same action for all middle pages) and then last page. So I do not have to open up all blank templates at once. Then I name the pages just like they do in their 'whole book' templates... i.e. 0000.psd, 0001.psd, 0203.psd, etc. Then when I finish all my photoshop files I will save off a .jpg copy of each and run their checker program to generate the pdf file and order away.
If anyone in the know sees an error in my ways please let me know because I am about 32 pages deep in a 40 page book.

Dermit - they way to check this is to generate some blank pages to go with the completed pages, then run them through the asuka generation utility. What you're doing sounds right.

I just finished my first 30 page album and I think it took 6-8 hours in photoshop. The quality is not like the one Tim was working on a few months ago, but I think the B&G will be happy. Once I get some more $ I'll get Photojunction.
