I know... flowers are overdone. I couldn't help taking the shot though. I was trying to focus in on a bee, and when I took the shot, it was gone. I was left with this. I ended up liking it.

Opinions? Good and bad, I don't mind. Could I have improved this in any way?

Awesom photo. The way I see it, the only way to improve it would be to stick the damn bee on it.

I wouldn't worry about the 'Cliché'. If we all worried about that, we would find no more photos of flowers, sunsets, landscapes etc, because they have already been taken by someone else, so we might as well sell our cameras and give up.

Anyway I have photos of all the above, and get considerable satisfaction from taking such photos. Yesterday I was also trying to get a bee on a flower, they just don't co-operate!

Keep up the good work! Excellent photo!

This pic is really excelent! Maybe even the best 'flower' picture in this forum. Pics of flowers are usually too flat and (xept their beauty) have no point. This picture is different - composition gives it a 3D feeling and a touch of some story. As msvandi wrote: the flowers are waiting for a bee. But, for god sake, dont try to put some in the picture. THAT would be a cliche! :)

LAZ

This is a lovely image -- I only wish that we could dee it without the carrot in the background.

Well done Laz. If I had been able to open up markets for my own "Photocards", I'd invite you to be a donor !

HOWIE

PS: I thought that your 8x shot of the ducks was very, very good -- allowing for what appears to be a dull day.

Thank you everyone. I very much appreciate your feedback. I guess it was a good thing that the bee flew away. I agree with you arccos... that would be cliché :D

I also agree with you Howie. I contemplated editing that out. It's actually a dead leaf that floated down. I may get around to it someday... maybe the same day that pigs fly... possibly sooner :)

Thanks again everyone.

Outstanding sharpness.

You have taken a little more care with this result than just throwing it in the mix. Are you willing to share exif and post-processing info?

Great shot.

Chris.

Chris,

That's what I wanted!

You didn't apply unusual post processing so your original must have had great promise. I love flower shots and this one is way up there. Thanks again.

Chris.
