Happy people there!
Unfortunately its not much of a sunset, well its not much to hang a silouette on.
I think you could've dropped the silo and used the 580EX for fill. And the 2nd shot looks soft. Using a monopod on the beach? Those 70-200 things can get heavy after a long wedding shoot.

I don't have a monopod, but all the shots were taken with the 24-70 which believe it or not is a lot heavier than the 70-200.

70-200 F4 or F2.8? The 2.8 IS is one weighty lens.
The first image is a compromise - I think you can do better. Expose for the background, or expose for the people, you've gone half way. In fact take all 3:
- exposed for highlights
- exposed for shadows
- exposed for highlights with fill flash
The second is good, but I don't like their unnatural expressions much.

I have the f4
I did expose for the sun, I don't know what happened. I think it was f10 with shutter 500 (i think)

It might not be possible to expose for the sun on a really bright day, it might blow out anyway, especially if there are no clouds. Go practice! :)
