Canon 1D

Hi,
I have been using an Eos 1N but I just bought the 1D . Can I use the 540ez with the canon battery pack(CP-E2). on my new digital? What would be the best set up for using slave units? What setup do you recommend to purchase? I'm doing portraits. Thanks

Any Canon EOS digital camera uses E-TTL flash mode. Your 540EZ, or any -EZ, for that matter, does not support E-TTL. So, you can use it only in manual flash mode, which is kind of a pain. You want to use any -EX flash.

Thanks, Ill probably switch to 2 of the 420ex and use the st-e2 and work it that way! I can do this though right?

You might want to read through the product manual on those flash units. Do it first, before you buy.
