I have purchased my PowerShot A95 fourteen months ago. The camera was working fine until last Monday. Then, with no apparent reason my camera started taking photos with horizontal lines. The viewer is working fine, only the pictures get the lines. I have never dropped my camera. I have reset my camera and formatted the CF card. Also used another CF card. Nothing helped. I have contacted Cannon service. I hope that they will respond soon. Before I hear from them, I would like to know your opinion about the possible problem. In case I have to send my camera for repair, do you think that it is worth to do it? I am waiting for you opinions. Anna

I couldn't even venture a guess at what's going on here. I can guess that you'll be without your camera for a few weeks though.

I have no idea what the problem is, but IME, it's worth calling Canon's tollfree number (if you're in the US). They will usually talk the problem over with you, and are often able to tell you if it's worth sending in for repair.
I've also had good luck with their online service.

I was 4 weeks past my 1 year UGH I was going to send it in but whined to DH and got a S2 and a 4 year warrenty from Bestbuy. I still have it and Im still a bit sad when I see it :( laying around the house. IT was a great camera.
It did that for like 3 weeks and then completly died. I could view pics on the LCD but if I took a photo it would be all black.
