Opinions please

Hi All,

I'm looking to get a longer lens for wildlife. Was thinking either the sigma 50-500 ex or the 100-300 ex with a 1.4 tc. Just wondering which would be better.

Pretty much spend as much as your budget can afford. How about a 400/500/600 prime and a 1.4TC?

I sure can't afford it, but that'd be my first choice.

But I sure have seen some amazing stuff from that 50-500.

You will lose your AF when you put the 1.4 teleconvertor on those lenses. That's not the end of the world but you should be prepared.

I use a 75 - 300 canon IS with a 1.4 doubler and only lose auto focus at the extreme 300 end. At about 250 (?) it works fine.
