Beijing 10 days ago. The sidewalks and streets need to be in excellent condition before the Olympic Games 2008. This work was going on next to the Worker's Stadium.

Nice - Looks like he's going to stretch the job out untill 2008 as well :-)
I think Health & Safety should get involved though...

The construction boom is incredible in Beijing right now, but I heard that the officials are not granting any new building licences if the work can not be secured to be ready by the Olympics.

Yes, Wu, I believe this guy was watching that everything is secured and tidied. (He was looking a bit suspiciously me, maybe considering me as a potential thief.)
