Maybe one of you can help me. I'm going to buy me either the 10D, or the new 300D Rebel. What I want to know is this. Can I use a Kalimar Lens off of my 2 35mm Minolta Cameras. I especially want to use the one Lens that is an Auto Focus 80-200mm Zoom.
Also I have read that on the 300D Rebel, people are getting an error 99 message when using non Canon Lens. You got any ideas?

I'm using a M42 Zenith 16mm and a M42 Peleng 8mm with the M42->EOS adapter from Jolos on my 300D. No problems. You can get the adapter form www.rugift.com, shipping from Russia to Italy was about 4 weeks.

Thanks, Tomka. I understand that an adapter isn't need to use Lens like the Sigma, and other brands.

That is correct. Sigma, Tamron and many other third-party lenses come made for the EOS-based cameras.

On the german Sigma website there is a compatibility listing for old Sigma lenses on EOS cameras.

If you want to buy a used Sigma lens it will be better to ask Sigma if you need modifications at this lens, and if it's possible to upgrade the lens for Canon EOS.

Thanks, Jim. The Lens on my Minoltas look exactly like the mounts on all the Canon 35mm Cameras I have owned. I think you call them a Bayonet Mount.
Tomka, how do you like the 300D Rebel.
