Hi everyone. Joined July 2005 but it has took me untill now to acquire enough courage to post:) I have a Canon A70 love it, but I am going to give this to my daughter. I got an A620 for myself yesterday.:D :D
I know how to push the Zoom lever, but it does not show the amount I have zoomed on my LCD. How can I get it to display in the LCD ? In the Menu the Digital is turned off.
Another question. In my P.C. is the software that I got with the A70. Can I just leave that in there ,take a few pics with the A620 & upload into that prog. ?
I am too nervous to take the old out & put the new in. I use a hub because I only have 2 ports at the back.
Thanks. Storm2

I just got my new A620 today. I love this thing. I would imagine you shouldn't have a problem with the software already on your PC, but might be newer version included with your new camera. As for the zoom did yo solve that one yet?
What I'm trying to figure out is where can I found more info about what feature's are and how they work? The manual only seems to give the barebones. This is coming from "newb".

Hi Lonewolf- yes figured it out. It was on Digital off ,came that way I guess default. So I changed it to Digital on & then when your are fullout on optical it shows 4x just left of the flash. Page31 Advanced guide.Like I said I also have a Canon A70. We are going up to my daughters place in a few days & want to give it a good run before. I took the A700 out last week .The 2.5 Lcd was nice but I found I could not hold it without pressing some button or other with my thumb. :D This 620 is not so bad ,but A70 is the best. Reason , old age, grip weakens + arthritus.
I dont think you are anywhere near that stage yet:lol:
Thanks . Storm2

Turn digital zoom off. Leave it off. Forget it's even there. You can do a much better job cropping and resizing on your computer.;)

i think you have to install the driver for the A620. you can use the existing programs in the canon utilities with your A620. but i suggest to upgrade it with the cd that come with your A620

i think you have to install the driver for the A620. you can use the existing programs in the canon utilities with your A620. but i suggest to upgrade it with the cd that come with your A620No. Don't install the CD over the existing version. Go to the Canon PowerShot site and drill down to the A620 Downloads page. Get the update package there and install it over your existing version. Many people have experienced problems after installing a new-from-CD version of Canon's software over an existing one. The update package you d/l from Canon will give you the same applications but will properly uninstall the older version first.

If all you want to do is download pictures from your digital camera. You can download the Image editing tool offered by Google - Picassa which is free and you dont have to install any drivers it automatically detects any camera , canon or sony or nikon and you can download the pictures easily.
