VOTING - MACRO Challenge #7 - Macro Water

The contest is closed and the voting is open, so this is your opportunity to best for the best photo that meets the theme.

The first rule of voting. Please please please leave a comment when you vote. This contest really comes alive when people just drop in,say hi and perhaps tell us why they voted for a particular photo. It makes the contest more fun and gives really great feedback for the photographers.

Other stuff:

* The poll will remain open for 7 days. (Close Sunday 16th July)
* You can vote for 3 (three) photos. Your vote will be public. Remember you need to vote for all 3 photos at the same time.
* Please don't vote for your own photos or invite your friends to register and vote for you. This is considered cheating and will be taken very seriously by the moderation team. See here for more information.
* As before there will 1st, 2nd and 3rd place positions.
* Phoodoo has offered the winner one year's free membership of his photo hosting website.
* I will be announcing the names (aliases) of the people who win.

Some really great shots here!

1) I've always liked ferns for some reason. The reflection in the drop makes this shot.
4) The best macro water shot I've ever seen! Very artistic.
11) Cool shot. I like how all the drops are in focus.

Honorable mention to #5. I like it, just couldn't figure out what it was. :)

Agree with the other thread, #13 isn't a macro.

I really like the colours and simplicity of 09 - 'Yellow Field of Flowers'.
The sharpness of 11 - 'Suspended Crystals' caught my attention too.

Well, if you're both feeling generous :D, I don't have a gallery other than the free one at from Flickr (and I'm quickly coming up on my 200 pic limit).

However, I completely understand if either/both of you want/need it as well. I was just suggesting it on the off chance that you guys may already have a gallery and for whatever reason you don't want another ;).

If that is the case, then maybe we could have another vote with only our three photos and everyone can only vote once? Just a suggestion...

Sorry I'm a little late in coming to this, but I've been away on holiday. As I see it, there are two options: 1) I could cast a deciding vote; 2) we could hold a second ballot for the three winners. Given the low turnout in this round, I don't think a second ballot would be effective and therefore I'll go for option 1.

I thought the top three photographs were excellent, but my vote goes to #4 (refracted love) because it is so well executed. Congratulations Athena (and everyone else that entered!) :D

DigitalMDX, that fern drop is an awesome picture. It is an amazing improvement from the first ones you posted (not that they were bad... this is just a lot better). Great work!

PS. For those of you wondering, my other shot (#5) is the stem of an apple under a faucet.
