recent pink special for the cbs early show

just my luck, on the way to get some pictures at the disney's enchanted movie shoot, i passed by the apple store (girls love 5th ave above 50th street, and i can't help but chat with random ones) which had a ton of screaming girls huddled around a stage and 3 fixed cameras and four more on camera men. all that for 4 songs by pink. these three happen to be the closest ones i got with my 70-200 (8x10 crop touched both sides of the 4x6 frame). hell, i was closer here than any of the newspaper/paparazzi guys were ;)

Did she ever take the microphone out of her mouth? Nice shots of the girls and Ted, er, I mean Steve.

no, that mic was glued to her face in every pic i took from that location, mainly because i was behind her at the time (i have 25% area crops from the front, where the mic was in a better place, but focus was spotty at best, some dead on, some 5 meters out of focus). if you know this guy's name, next time i'll try to start up a conversation (must don the 70-200 first though, none of these guys take you seriously with a 50mm 1.8 ;) )

as you can tell, crop is noticible, and the amount of screaming fans jumping around made it next to impossible to get anything from that angle/distance. (and that happens to be the only image i have of her w/o mic in face... ) got to remember, the entire place was barricaded because it was private propery, so you don't get the option of the best angle, just the angle they don't take away...

Well, at least we can tell what she looks like in the last! :-) Kinda unpleasant! :-) And she needs someone else to dress her. Good work picking these up on the spur of the moment.

I see he's got a hood for his lens now though! Last time I saw him i thought he had chipped the edge of it...? :)

Nice pictures, but I do have some (hopefully constructive) criticism:
- Had I taken these pictures, I'd throw the first one away just since the subject has an expression which I consider unflattering. You will get a lot of silly expressions if you photograph singers (while they sing), so prepare to throw some (many) of them away and save the ones that you'd think the subjet would consider to be flattering.
- The audience shots look very cold and a bit dark. I'm sure adding a bit warmth and tweaking the curves would make the mood of the pictures much more pleasing.
