EF = Canon's current lens series
35mm=focal length
f2.0 = aperture
AF = autofocus (not Ultrasonic)
The angle of view of this lens is 63° on EOS all SLR bodies. For DSLRs D30/D60/10D/300D it is approx. 40° and 1D approx. 48°.
You can use any EF Canon lens with your 300D.
EF-S lenses (only one at the moment) can only be used with 300D.

Isn't this a lens for videocams?

Actually, this lens has been around a while. You can find it for auction sometimes on eBay. You can also find it at www.adorama.com for $225. It's on backorder, however.
It's not a video camera lens. It's an EF mount lens, which means it'll fit any EOS, Elan, and Rebel cameras.
