Well not actually a room, but blue lighting to stop the junkies shooting up.
Taken on a night walk around Kings X (red light district of Sydney), Australia.
Images not touched in Photoshop, it is actually blue in there...!!
Blown light one first was intentional....

And the source of the light....

Interesting scenes, Marty. The tilt in the first pic works well, boosting the weird (for most of us ;)) feeling.
(I googled 'Kings Cross Sydney' and this (http://www.sydneymate.com/travel_sydney_australia/suburbs/KingsX/king_cross.htm) was the first hit. Surely an interesting area for street shooters.)

Thanks Olli, thats the right place.
Its not as seedy or dirty as it was a few years ago, sadly it just doesnt have the original feel to the place.
Glad you like the tilted perspective,
Cheers

Coool shots Marty love the disorienting angles, they go well with the subject. They convey the feeling of lying on the ground looking up, perhaps waking up after an induced slumber form being bashed and robbed heh heh. You don't get the good shots sitting on the lounge at home eh'.

Cheers Roger,
no I just get urges and have to get out with my camera, keeps me sane I guess.
The above images were straight from the camera, but I wasnt happy with the first as it looked to clean.
So I gave it a bit of a workout in Photoshop (actaully only 2 mins).

I like the edit of #1. Kings X wasn't as bad as what i'd heard about it when I went but then again i'd just seen some of the worst parts of Bangkok, Vientiane, Phnom Penh and Hanoi! The bouncers were a bit pushy trying to get people to go into the strip clubs though.

The re-worked version of the first shot is killer, perspective is great and the splash of red really draws the eye.

Interesting shots.
Could you tell me why blue light repels junkies?

Could you tell me why blue light repels junkies?Blue light makes it more difficult to find your veins.

Blue lights are everywhere in public areas in Australia, much more than 'rough' areas of England, I've found. maybe the Oz public care more!?
Great shots, liked the edit of #1. Not too keen on #2 though.

The angles certainly make the shots for me, particularly when you know why the blue lights are there. Nice work.
