What kind of concerts? I regularly shoot alot of smaller bands and nobody seems to care.. if you're going to be shooting international acts in big venues I presume you'd need some kind of permission for your camera. You can always call up where you're shooting and ask what their policies are re: photography in their venue.

For a tutorial, I'd recommend starting here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=81761)...

Because there is so much to see and do here at POTN that you can't do it all.

Hi James
I've just started doing concert photography too, this a great forum for advice. I have only shot small local bands in small venues/bars, normally I email them before hand to check it is ok or sometimes I just turn up, I haven't had any problems yet. Most bands will really appreciate it if you show an interest in them. Just take the plunge and go for it, I was really nervous but I'm getting so much out of it now.
Let us know how it goes if you decide to give it a go.
Rachel
