where do you guys get your ink stamps that you use on the back of your proofs for copyright? or is this something you don't do?

I'm not a pro (just started my own business), but I ordered one from Staples (I think that's the Canadian equivalent of Office Depot). I just put

Haw Digital
Professional Image
Do Not Copy

on it. I think it cost about $30.

i've found them online for $6 or so. do you use archival ink? i just want to make sure that the ink won't mess up the pictures.

I would appreciate advice on good sources for this.
Some of the stamps I have bought in the past used a kind of ink that did not dry and only worked on absorbant paper (like office paper), not on photo paper.

You check a number of online sites that specializes in stamps, but it would probably be easier if you just batch files your work in Photoshop with your name, year,a nd copyright on the front of the picture. A little cheaper than buying a stamp.

But a good place on line for stamps and business cards is vistaprint.com

I got 500 cards for $43.00 US and I then have recieved coupons for stationary, stamps etc. for exceedingly cheap prices.

Plus you can upload your own designs.

Personally, I think you are safer putting a watermark in the image. I do however have stickers that I made for those occasions where the watermark is not appropriate and the customer is asking for physical proofs.

There is 80 to a page and you get about 40 pages for around 20.00. It is a breeze to run through the printer.

I too got a stamp from Staples..... dirt cheap, dries really fast, never had an issue with it. If people want to steal your image, they are going to do it... at least I feel I have done my due diligence with the stamp.

i can't imagine putting stuff on the front of the image when producing proofs for a wedding event. i've heard that stickers over time can cause problems, something with the glue.

i plan on printing proofs with white borders and putting a stamp on the back. i feel this is better then giving out a cd. this way i can get future sales by printing copies for them.

I bought business cards from Vistaprints.com and was only somewhat satisfied. True, they had a great price but the card stock was not up to my expectations and the image on the front didn't have any finish on it. In short, they don't look very professional. I'll do more research when it's time to reorder.

i ordered 1000 business cards from overnightprints for $53.** shipped. haven't gotten them yet, but they're now using 15pt card stock so i'm sure that will be decent quality.

first, they're made my their own design, i'm not sure as you can upload your own. second, they're one sided to my knowledge which means they probably put their logo on the back as personal advertising.

i made my own 2 sided design. plus, i've heard that overnightprints has better quality.
