Wandered down to the third of my local graveyards to check it out. Never been to this one before even tho' it's only 5 minutes away. Was a bit creepy, and that's the look I was aiming for without much success, but not too bad. Wouldn't fancy it at night tho'

I agree about it probably being a bit creepy at night.
I think nos. 2 & 3 are my fav's - I like the high contrast B&W treatment, suits the subject IMO.
I've never shot graveyards/gravestones myself, I don't know whether I'd feel 'at ease' doing it, I'd be worried about 'intruding', especially if people were around there, paying their respects to the deceased. Maybe it's just me?
I read somewhere on these forums a while back about someone who was asked to take shots at a funeral and wake etc. sounds a bit morbid to me.

Aww, c'mon, condyk. This one is screaming to be photographed by moonlight . . . .
Nice find. Cool place, interesting shots.

This is a well balanced set, Dave. I find it hard to pick my favorite, maybe it is the last one, where the sharpening (?) highlights the white stone nicely.
I also agree with Steven: this is worth of a moonlight visit ...
(We have a number of graveyard shooters in POTN. I've proposed an own forum for us here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=188777) (post #16), so far very little interest.)

Cheers chums ...
Azle thanks. I am partial to 2 and 3 which most closely achieve what I wanted.
Kev ... I know what you mean. I would never shoot when people are around and there to visit a grave.
Stevie ... hehe! Well I hear you man and maybe I will one of these nights. I would do it with someone else and I ain't scared of ghosts and so on, but would be a bit worried about being mugged or attacked in a deserted, very dark place like that.
Dorman ... I like that one other than the edging to the white stone. That is actually natural, I checked the unPP'd shot. It captures a different feel to the others with the clouds overhead.
Olli ... well if folks ever do a bit of a UK tour and stop off in Birmingham then we could have a moonlight shoot together. There is always risk one the POTN members turns out to be a vampire, but we could pack some stakes and crosses.
Misspix ... Looks like someone opened that one up and went walkabout ;-)

Nice safe daytime shots.
Now for the night shots: Bring a portable fog machine and some area lights. Set the lights behind some of the tombstones.
