Can someone tell me what's wrong with these pictures? I like them, kind of. There just seems to be something *off*. NOt cropped right? Blurred? Noise? I can't put my finger on it. I know the last picture (of the chives) is blurry. But I feel like it could have been a great picture if I had done something else.

Any comments will help. Thank you! :)

Just a beginner here, but I think you need to decrease the depth of field to draw some attention to the subject. A few of these seem to be all about the background to me, which I don't think was your intention.

Good subject though, you can shoot these over and over working on your skills (which is exactly what I've doing these days).

That is a lot of pictures to comment on!! Here's a few of my opinions for each shot:

Shot #
1. Basil looks out of focus, it seems that the soil in the pot is more in focus.
2. Looks like you are getting too much reflection of the light off the leaves. Maybe try moving the pot out of direct sun and adjusting the exposure to compensate.
3. Way over saturated.
4. not sure about this one
5. yellow flowers: it seems kind of hard to make out the details on the flowers. Almost seems like they are over exposed. I think the camera compensated for the dark background when you metered. I would try re-taking this picture and meter on the flowers directly or just give it a stop or two less exposure. You might bracket this shot and then combine later in PS.
6. Seems like the focus is at the stems in the back of the shot. This seems to happens in many of these shots. It seems that your camera is back focusing or you are too close and the not allowing your camera to have its minimum focus distance for these shots.

You are awesome.

Too much light, exactly.

And the one of the honey suckles (yellow flowers) was taken in pretty bad light. It was just about to get dark outside, so yeah.

THank you so much!
