Ok, my first wedding with my 350D and lenses! It wasn't hard as I was just another guest with a camera but that then also means I can't order people around to get great individual shots. Still, I think I got a few good ones. :) I learnt that shutter speed is more important than ISO. Have a few shots where I was desperate to keep the quality as high as possible but unfortunatly the blur was just a tiny bit too much and ruined the otherwise great photo, bah. From now on I'll be dropping my ISO down to make sure my shutter speed is as fast as I think it needs (plus a little bit more).

C&C please, I want to learn!

LOVE number 3! The kids and the cat are very cute too... I would just have gotten down to their level. The food shots are very nice as well, the few others are a bit too "snapshoty" ... you did a very good job

Excellent work! Sharp and emotive. #2 could have used a little fill flash, but the rest are perfect. Your color management is very good as well.

Sometimes it is better to be the 2nd shooter to get great candid shots.
when you are the main photographer you sometimes have to get to pose people or hours on end....

Nice shots, I love #8, if those people were in my family, that shot would be on my wall!

I would LOVE the opportunity to second shoot for someone. I've never had the chance...

Thanks for the responses! I agree a lot of them (the others I haven't shown as well) are pretty snapshotty. I didn't move around much as I was just another guest, I didn't want to pretend to be a pro photographer by being creative etc. I guess it's more a confidence thing :)

I'm happy with the way they turned out, looking forward to doing more!

Nice stuff...though don't be afraid to 'go wide'. A lot of full frame content there. It loses it's charm when it's just a head & shoulders of someone with no other context in the photo. ;)

Nice shots. Have to say I immediatly thought "this is a British wedding" when I saw the people. They all looked very British... ;)

I really like your shots, the only thing I'd say is you cut the head off slightly in number 3, but it's not a big deal.

Great for a first try and love the colouring of the photos

Clare as a Londoner (British, but Britains a big place and very diverse!!), whats so British about these pix? It's not even raining?!!

Cate,
Well, ok, English. LOL The people look English. It's the facial features along with the hat... ;)

heh, well it was an English registry wedding although the Groom is from Yorkshire. It did rain in the morning but then was pretty sunny throughout the rest of the day which was lucky! :)

All the pics are here

Most arn't very good from a photography point of view, it was more about the people and capturing the day for the Bride and Groom.
