Hello! This is my first time posting.

I am grearing up for a wedding that I am photographing in a couple of weeks and recently received lights that I plan to use for the event.

I have two 1000 watt dyna light strobes with umbrellas and am wondering if both flashes should be set at equal power, or should one be set higher than the other? Should the light be bounced out or through the umbrellas?

Thanks for your help/comments!

Personally, I've found that there is RARELY time to set up a studio situation at a wedding. My formal wedding party shots are all with 2-3 speelights and/or natural light.

Russell - the answer is "it depends". I'd suggest taking them along but don't try and find a use for them, use them only if you really need to. Asking basic question before a first wedding indicate you're not at the point where you'd be able to cope with the overhead of studio lights at a wedding.
