With all of the printers out there now, which one is your best pic if I want larger than 8x10 prints. What do they cost. I plan on researching further, but I wanted to narrow down my choices first.
Look forward to hearing your responses.
Thanks guys,
CMH

I cannot even almost start to say which is the best site, but I can say I have been very happy with both jumbogiant.com and whcc.com (White House Custom Color). Having pretty much given up on inkjet prints for anything that should last more than a few years, I''ve been using these sites more often, and so far no compaints.

Epson Ultrachromes will last a long time - decades(?) - longer than me , probably!
Then it's the 2200 (13" wide), 4000 (17" wide, available soon), the 7600 (24" wide) or 9600 (42" wide)
You don't say how big you want beyond 8x10.....

I've got the Epson 2200 and love it. However, I bought it before I got my 10D. I did look at the Canon S9000 but went with the 2200 for the Ultrachromes for their longivity. As AJSJones stated, they're supposed to last longer than us if properly framed behind glass and not exposed to ultraviolent or direct light.

I looked at both the Epson 2200 and S9000. Both are excellent large format printers and I’m sure you would be pleased with either. I did purchase the S9000 and print quality is excellent even at large formats. I did hear the arguments about longer ink life on the Epson, but in the end I decided on the S9000 and if the prints faded in years to come, I would just print them again what I’m sure will be a better printer of the future! Since Canon updated the S9000 to the i9100, the older S9000 printers are a real bargain at $299 list. But I’d most likely go for the i9000 since it’s double the resolution can print borderless at even 19X13.
My 2 cents ….Dan

I have the Canon S9000, and I get many compliments on the prints I have hanging over my desk (two tigers at 12" x 16" - the printer will go to 13" x 19")
I think the reviews normally say the Canon and Epson are about the same in print quality. The Epson prints last longer. The Canons usually print much faster. Since I'm willing to reprint my prints after 20 years or so, I went with the faster engine.
