Truely baffling how they got that much detail in to the shot, a wide angle wouldn't hold all the detail, you can see people in the offices. I wonder wether it was stitched with a large zoom, if so it's very good. It looks a bit like the google maps 'pixels on demand' technology for the previewing.

Very nicely done.

Yes, it's a long lens stitch. Here's an example of the stitching. This is from the bright yellow church (on the water's edge, 2/3 of the way over from the right). Notice the detail at full zoom. Parts of the trees are blurry while other parts are not. Also note the uneven edge between the top half and bottom half of the example photo:

I could only find two clocks in the photo. They're several minutes apart. ;)

92818

The clock on the left show 8:25pm while the clock further to the right shows 8:17pm

That is truly impressive! Must have taken quite some time. I'd love to be able to do this.

That's really cool. There's a restaurant on the bottom left and you can see all the people eating and stuff. Heh.

http://www.docbert.org/SydneyByNight/info.html He has all the technical details about the pic there. He used a 10D with a Canon 100-400L. Took him 52 minutes.

Go Canon 10D !!!!!! HA HA HA HA HA :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Sorry, I just needed to express my own happines for owning 10Ds, as I am not yet part of the 20,30,5 or even 1D family. ;)
A pathetic outcry for encouragement to upgrade my camera? perhaps...

says right below the image
"169 images, 720 Megapixels, stitched with Autopano Pro"

canon should just have a 720MP camera so we wouldn't have to stitch at all!!!

That is quite impressive, if you read on the webpage under tech detail, it tells all about how he did it and how long it took.. I might have to try that sometime..

Heh heh. One of these days....That and a 50,000mm lens. As a kit they'd only cost 2 mortgages.
