View Full Version : My D60 just died

Camera worked fine yesterday at a golf tourney. Over 200 photo without a hitch.

This morning I turned it on, put in a CF card and it went blank.

Nothing. Nada.

I pulled the card, replaced the battery... nothing worked.

I plugged it into the AC power adapter and it came back to life, until I put a CF card in it. (Different card)

Now it’s dead again. AC power does nothing for it.

I tried the same CF cards in my D30 and they are fine.

Batteries are all OK too.

The only precursor is two days ago a CF card refused to read in the camera and it also will not read through the reader and it will not format in camera or on the PC.

All my CF cards are 256mb Lexar 4x. Some are two to three years old, but they’ve worked flawlessly until now.

Anybody have a clue as to what is going on or do I have to send it into that black hole in Irvine CA, for repair?

The Dead have arisen!!

The CF cards would fit fine in the bay but the Micro drive would not.

Upon closer examination, the guide pin (longer then the other pins in the bay) was bent slightly, blocking the MD from seating.

I straighten the pin and all is well!! (now I just have to find the CF card that did it.)

Someone thought it might be a bad pin, they were right!!

Man I just saved a bundle of money…

Thanks to all!!

Peace,
Jim
