Could you all list the books you would recommend to someone just getting into the game? Perhaps a sentance as to why you are recommending it as well, thanks.

Hi,

Do you have a Barnes and Noble or Borders local? Drop by and browse thru their books. I have had more of my questions answered via general 35mm books than in the dSLR books. But I am wanting to do everything manual so it is natural that old-school will have more info for me.

I can post the titles of those that I have if you are interested in reading about 35mm techniques :)

Understanding Exposure and Learning to See Creatively by Bryan Peterson are two good books for beginners.

I agree with Liza and would also recommend Bryan Peterson's book "Understanding Digital Photography". Regarding Photoshop, I would recommend books written by Scott Kelby or Martin Evening (they have both written books on all of the Photoshop versions).

Enjoy the learning curve!
