I'm a digital photography beginner looking for suggestions on how to increase the zoom capability of my G2. I take alot of trips out west and like to shoot pictures of wildlife at fair distances. What lens adapter/lens combo is best?

I too had similar problems and settled on the following:
A Canon TC-DC58N which is a 1.75x lens. I use this alot and it seems to do the trick.
The other is the CrystalVue LX8. Although this is more of a spotting scope, it does amazing things to your zooming abilities. It is not the easiest thing to focus, and it needs a stand or rest, but there isn't anything like it that will do a better job.

I'd look at adapter, etc. at lensmateonline.com.
Kenko KNT-20 can then be added as a 2x telephoto (with 49-52mm step-up ring).
KNT-20 can be purchased at the above as well, also via places like 2filter.com. Is in a rare period of being available via the above sites right now.
There are other stronger, more expensive teleconverters if you need even more. Probably looking at the lensmate adapter regardless.

The closest you'll get to wildlife will be with the crystalvue 8x lens.
Do a forum search for that!
