This is very nice .. but there is just nothing that emerges to set a killer mood, subject, color, reflection, etc.

So your problem is getting a better composition and leading us to a subject, or exposing us to wonderful color, or a wonderful mood in time, or a memory that we share.

In this instance maybe you should just pick a small part of the pond, in the magic hour, with a setting sun, and birds, a child, a duck, a kid fishing and all.

Just try, try, and shoot, shoot some more, it will come with practice.

I agree with Howie, One thing you might have done to punch up the photo is to maybe crop the right half, so that the whispy cloud on the left of the sky would be the focal point that draws your eye into the picture and the pond. Remeber in most instances less is better.
It all comes with practice and looking at other peoples photos.

I see a very nice shot of a good scene. But something is telling me the scene has alot more potential to it. What I'm drawn to is looking over the whole thing. Seems there would be something to draw the eye. But is very nice, nonetheless!

I was looking for just an overall shot but I see what you guys mean that there is nothing in it to draw your attention or say wow about. Thanks for the advice ... and now back to shooting. :)
