Hi, I really wanted to try to get shots of people, so I asked my friend and she thought it was a cool idea because she's into my photography and all. I'm just not sure what to expect, how to get it going, what type of ideas to do. I just want to get nice, dramatic portrait shots of some kind. Black and white is what I had in mind, tight crops probably, with emphasis on angles and facial expressions. I figured a park was a good setting to start, but I'm not sure how I'll take it from there. Any pointers on how to direct this type of event? Thanks!

Just go with the flow. Have fun. Try various angles, face expressions, poses etc. You're with a friend, so she won't mind messing around a bit.
