Hi,
I currently plan 2 photography models doing catwalk on the stage using my A70. I have no idea what kind of techniques and setting for my camera needed for those photography! I plan to use manual mode for that! It's actually a contest of digital photography. I juz wanna try my art in photography thru this contest. Did anyone have any idea what kinda setting for the A70 or technique needed to perform this job. For your information, the photography contest is held in indoor shopping centre. I still having problem setting the flash power on the A70, sometime (most of the time) the flash is too strong till make the photo over exposed! Did anyone outthere have any experience taking that kinda model photos? What kinda ISO, Shutter Speed , Apeture setting do i need and the flash power?..

Desperate for help...
Thanks

Note: I only have limited experience in runway shoots.

Not having the A70, I can only offer one piece of advice. Shutter speed should be a minimum of 1/125 and preferable 1/180 or faster. Given that ISO should be set as best (lower number) as you can while still giving you some depth of field from the aperture. Because the models are moving I tend to use shutter priority mode so the camera can pick the aperture.

On my 10D I try to get f4.5 or larger for aperture, but sometimes have to settle for f2.8, because I prefer shooting at ISO 100 or 200 if at all possible. Of course I have a 550EX flash and that helps a bundle at keeping the ISO good and still having a decent aperture.

The main factor that will affect your settings are distance of flash to target, Sometimes I can get 3-8feet (1-3M) away, others I am more then 10 feet (3M) away and have to adjust accordingly.

Just my experience,
